TV is Awesome Podcast: Ozark S1 E4 Tonight We Improvise

Here we are again... Jonah doing his best Carl from The Walking Dead. Decidedly unhygienic sharing of Buddy's oxygen tubes, even by pre-Covid standards, walking aimlessly through the woods, finding dead wolves to, you know... gut study? Listen as we discuss these things and also the benefits of obtaining a deed with no name, creating a female-empowered culture at your new strip club, literal money laundering tips, what can FBI agents actually see in their database, what does awkward fly fishing have to do with this, poppies make a grand appearance and who is Wendy talking to on her cell phone? Also, what if it's genetic

TV is Awesome Podcast: Ozark S1E2 Blue Cat

We didn't know about the Os! Well, one of us didn't. And now we know each episode starts with spoilers. We are loving this second episode! Things are moving right along in the Ozarks... kids not listening to Marty & Wendy and wander off, Charlotte gets tossed from a boat, Ruth takes suitcase money, Marty is hustling trying to find places to launder money, Wendy is buying bundle-deal houses where the bundle includes a naked old man, and we find PJ from My Boys! Will insurance pay out on an accident if they suspect suicide? Turns out, doesn't matter because Paxil Marty always comes through!

Grab your Birthday Milestone Glass full of a lovely cocktail and listen to us chat about all of this here!

TV is Awesome Podcast: Ozark Ep 1 (WE LISTENED!!)

You voted, we listened! Our new show for discussion is OzarkNoSAtTheEnd. And it is going to be an ADVENTURE! Neither of the hosts have seen any episodes previously so we are going in cold! Pretty good pilot to set the tone and man did they jam a lot of action into 60 minutes! Darker than even we thought and reaallly uncomfortable. We are curious about how this is going to go - will we be able to stand the pressure?! And we have questions: first of all, isn't everyone going to be concerned where they are/ where his dead friend is/ where dead lover is? Will Jason Bateman warm up? Is Consumer Reports a recurring character? Will we ever NOT pronounce the S at the end of Ozark?

Grab your Cocktail-in-a-Can and come along on our adventure:

TV is Awesome Podcast BONUS EPISODE: HACKS

You guys voted and WE LISTENED! We watched the first season of HACKS and guess what... we loved it! And not just because of the (oddly timed) Papa Gino's shout out. Listen as we discuss pizza places in New England, Jean Smart being fabulous (is there nothing she can't do?), redheads from Waltham, why does that joke get Deb cancelled?, Las Vegas is so Las Vegas, Los Angeles is so Los Angeles, our favorite and least favorite supporting characters, and could a wax figure really open an IPhone with face recognition?

TV is Awesome Podcast Discussion: BONUS! The Leftovers Big Mysteries Revisited

WE HAD TO GO BACK!!!  Listen as we delve into some of the topics that required some extra investigating, including why a flood, Kevin Sr.? and did Nora really go through? Does it matter if she did or not? what does the heartbreaking music sound like to people who have never seen The Leftovers? and also, most importantly, Nora had a dog???

And we are loving every minute and looking forward to moving on with a new series and some additional bonus episodes soon!

As for this episode, it is everything we remembered and more! So. Much. Happens. Listen here as we discuss future Nora, future Kevin, future Lori, birds, goats, weddings, catching up on where Matt, Tommy, Jill and Kevin Sr. are, also furious biking, lying nuns, totally naked Nora and one hell of a story... do we believe her? Probably one of the best finales of all time!

TV is Awesome Podcast Discussion: We Love Mare of Easttown!

Here's the understatement of all understatements: we LOVE great TV. And guess what, Mare of Easttown is GREAT TV!!  Listen as we discuss all the great things: the acting, the characters, the plot, our friend Kate, Jean Smart, Peter Evans, how accents work, the slow reveals of backstory and then the ENDING. *shocked face emoji* The ending that was so crazy that one of the hosts still didn't understand what was happening EVEN WHILE A CONFESSION WAS HAPPENING!

Good stuff, Mare!

TV is Awesome Podcast Discussion: The Leftovers S3E6 Certified... Certifiable?

Alternate Title: Dogs & Babies & Family & Pills!

We start with 1-800 Suicide, and end with a...suicide? Unclear! But the show certainly leads you to think it. So in this episode we discuss topics such as, is everyone crazy? crazier than Laurie? Is Laurie the stable one in this world right now? We are dis-com-fucking-bobulated! We consider if we've been wrong about Laurie all this time... but then Publisher-Office Laurie shows up to get her lighter back and we know what's up. Somehow Laurie is the one everyone is leaning on in this episode... Nora, Michael, John, Kevin and to some extent Kevin Sr. We also discuss if anyone in the writer's room has ever been to a baseball game. As Laurie says, these are crazy times.

TV is Awesome Podcast Discussion: The Leftovers S3E5 It's a Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt World

Well, I mean... if you're into sex boats, lions, dead people - real dead, car wash dead and back from the dead dead - Ipods, French submarines, and possibly PETA, then this is the episode for you!

And if that sentence didn't grab you, then maybe this will:  listen here as Ken & Lisa discuss the yoga workouts needed to prepare for solo nuclear launching, we miss Ipods, the various pronunciations of Laurie's name, Laurie being Laurie and also maybe making sense, dirty jokes, sex boats, end of the world celebrations, is David Burton God, the lore of Frasier the Lion and did we watch a lion eat God?

TV is Awesome Podcast Discussion: The Leftovers S3E4 G'Day Melbourne

This episode could also have been called "Lori, You're Trash," "Sex in the Baby Bathroom" or also just "UUUUUUUGGHHHHH."

While still being amazing TV, this episode just BUMS US OUT. Lots of foreshadowing, starting with This Love is Over by Ray Lamontagne in intro, then Nora and Kevin literally in different lanes, joking conversation about their toxic relationship. All leading up to the breakup of the century while a literal bomb is going off in the world.

Discussion topics include the ever-important Book of Kevin, pancakes, buses, babies all over the place, Nora in a Box (t-shirt coming soon), Evie sighting! Plus what is this show telling us!? Is Kevin having a mental break in Australia or is something else happening? Why show us Evie at all? And then the most devastating breakup and pretty photography end-scene ever. And guess what... NO EMMYS FOR ANY OF THIS! (drink!)

TV is Awesome Podcast: Discussion of The Leftovers S3E3 Crazy Whitefella Thinking

We're starting a band and calling it Christopher Sunday!

In our conversation over drinks, we discuss all of the awesome things in this episode: Kevin Sr., 5 minutes of Christopher Sunday, soliloquys, swearing, arks, Grace, medicine, cheese, Eddie Rabbit, using a pen to rewind your cassette tape, having purpose and finding your own Personal Jesus, preferably lounge-style.

TV is Awesome Podcast BONUS EPISODE: Reply All and The Vanishing at The Cecil Hotel

To sum up both topics: *sad face emoji* and *shocked face emoji*

And really what else is there to say? Well, plenty as it turns out. I mean, did anyone think we wouldn't talk a LOT about these things?

Our overall disappointment with what's happening in Reply All Land and our overall fascination with the Elisa Lam story are fully discussed in the first of what we hope is many Bonus Episodes.

That elevator video!

TV is Awesome Podcast: The Leftovers S3E2 Discussion Don't Be Ridiculous

Well, RIP Tower Guy/ Platform Dude/ Pillar Man... we hardly knew ya. But we know enough to know that Virgil is not around to help you this time, and we don't think you'll be singing Homeward Bound in that hotel bar. As always, a Nora-centric episode gives us all the goods - lots of discussions and revelations, some laughs, some tears and a LOT of soul searching. Listen as we discuss Mark Linn-Baker as himself! Mostly! Did the scientists actually figure out how to get where the 2% went? Nora and Erika ARE besties! We see Lily, Kevin & Nora maybe aren't as okay as they are pretending, technology is against Nora, and of course, lots of Wu Tang Clan. Also, can holy balls be busted? And of course, we're going to Australia!

TV is Awesome Podcast Discussion: S3E1 The Book of Kevin/ Is This Where the Fucked Up People Live

WE MADE IT! Season 3 Episode 1 where we are getting at least AN answer about why does Kevin keep not dying? A theory... a pretty strong theory proposed by some of his closest peeps. Turns out, his peeps are very interested in the story of how he met Lori (and we're all like, who cares?) because they are writing the Book of Kevin. Matt and friends are convinced Kevin is divine? magic? only in Miracle? This is some big news, especially from newly-bespectacled John who now I guess agrees some weird, unexplainable shit does happen in Miracle. Evie! Birds! Future Nora! Baldie is back! A baptism that doesn't count! And Jill summing up all of The Leftovers with her fabulous greeting:  Is this where all the fucked up people live?

Yes, Jill. Yes.

TV is Awesome: S2E10 Finale I Live Here Now (Don't We All??)

Well, well, well... it's the return of the No Name Dog! Finally! We made it to the Season 2 Finale everyone! That's a good time to bring the dog back... and then watch him run off into the night to eventually rule the world (foreshadowing!). Listen as we discuss Kevin confessing to John that he saw Evie the night she disappeared and he knows because he died. Then of course John shoots him. But none of that matters because Evie is on the bridge with Meg's Bomb-Camper! Also, Donna Moss wakes up for real (!), Nora almost loses Lily, Miracle become mayhem, Kevin dies, sings and comes back... again.

TV is Awesome Podcast Discussion of The Leftovers S2E9: Ten Thirteen or MEG!!!!

Well, some pieces are coming together in this episode... big pieces!... some pieces we didn't even know we needed! Meg, we hardly knew ye! Listen as we discuss meeting past Meg and Meg's Mom (!) the day before the departure, Meg's fun coke use, her first trip to Jardin, Psychic Isaac is FOR REALZ*, Meg and Evie eating carrots. Then meeting recent/ now Meg throwing a grenade on a school bus full of kids (*shocked face emoji*), are Meg and Tommy the new Super Couple? Teg? Mommy? (ewwww but maybe appropriate?). Speaking of Mommy, Tommy finally let's Lori have it and calls her out for leaving her family. Lori handled that in the most Lori way ever.

So.Much.To.Discuss!

*Full Disclosure: I had to Google Isaac's name for the millionth time.

TV is Awesome Podcast: The Leftovers Discussion S2E8 The International Assassin is Thirsty

For a show where we endlessly talk about how real the reactions are to the departure, this is an episode that is really, let's just say, out there. But still fantastic! Kevin is dead, in the other world (or AN other world), unknowingly (?) chose to be an international assassin, talking to his dad in Australia through a TV, and cuts his hand (clean that, Kevin!). Dickhead Neil. Why is Donna Moss there?? And little Patti is heartbreaking.

DON'T DRINK THE WATER!
